Columbus APICS joined BOMS for a joint meeting on the OSU campus at Schoenbaum Hall on November 14, 2018.  It was a nearly packed room with students anxious to hear the opportunities and challenges available to them at Owens Corning.

Owens Corning employees and student interns from this last summer presented real-world issues they are tackling.  Students heard that business is going very well with the building industry currently expanding, but distribution is a challenge because of a shortage of truck drivers.  Owens Corning is also making strides in environmental stewardship with a goal of zero waste to landfills in the future and even excavating decades-old plant waste to recycle through improved processes to reclaim these materials.  Many other initiatives were presented in both sourcing and distribution on a domestic and international scale.  This spurred an intriguing Q and A session to finish out the evening.
